Liliana Malave is an executive, entrepreneur and philanthropist with more than 25 years of experience in corporate accounting and insurance. For the last 10 years, she has dedicated herself to fostering education in the US and her home country, Venezuela, through the CDEI Foundation.

In charge of CDEI’s Miami chapter, Mrs. Malave seeks to grow its presence in South Florida and Latin America by creating and implementing programs in pro of education while also focusing in sports and culture. She has been part of CDEI’s team since 2006, when she joined the organization as a volunteer. By 2008, she opened CDEI’s office in Venezuela, with the primary project of enhancing children’s education through the installation of a new computer network for a school in the city of Valera. In 2015, Mrs. Malave sought to expand CDEI’s network of positive improvements and opened the Foundation’s office in Miami. Prior to her philanthropic work, she ventured into several successful family businesses as an entrepreneur in her home country, Venezuela.

She was a Risk Underwriter at Seguros Sudamerica, a Venezuelan insurance company, where she was responsible for securing different companies’ properties, employee liabilities and working compensations. Mrs. Malave managed the international client portfolio, especially Swiss corporations, such as Abbott Laboratories, Nestle & ABB Group, and energy companies, such as Repsol and BP. During this time, her portfolio was valued at approximately US

$50MM.

Mrs. Malave started her career in 1989 at Venezolana de Seguros, where she was an Executive Management Assistant for the Reinsurance Department. She also worked in Coinsurance and Accounting at Segursol and Zurich, where she stayed until 1998. Mrs. Malave holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Santa Maria University in Caracas,

Venezuela.
